I allowed WaterWizard in since I'm almost certain he'll want to be, he's just been busy. That gives us 10, which means 6 players get Byes. Like before, Byes are based on previous tournament results: 1st Seeds: Crystal, WaterWizard 2nd Seeds: DragonAura, Nerd, Zilch, SubSmoke 3rd Seeds: Consumptus, KiNGskruffi, LucasBM, t3h Icy (Inserted into Losers'): Garrin Red I gave Nerd a Bye since he's proven himself as a powerful player, despite not recently entering tournaments. Anyway, all sets are best 2 of 3, except Winners' Finals, Losers' Finals and Grand Finals, which are best 3 of 5. Good luck!

Aww, thanks Icy. I really think you should have given yourself a bye, though, since you've proven yourself in tournaments. You're supposed to make 'fair' brackets! You can switch our placements if you want.
Otherwise: Subsmoke, can you be on today (Sunday) or tomorrow? If not, how is next Saturday for you?

Ha, I've been doing terrible lately. Lost R1 to DragonAura in Ubers, lost R1 to Crystal in Nea, but I did get 2nd in LC and 3rd in OU, but those are older.

Won to t3h Icy 2-1. Really close. I lost the second battle with bad luck against Golduck, last game was the exact opposite.

Is it possible to change "loser of X"s to another color (green/yellow), so that its colour isn't the same as players' colour?

I wasn't even gone two weeks, and a tournament was already set up and started??
...It's too late for me to enter, isn't it?...

Maybe you can enter against the loser of L or loser of J... If everybody agrees, of course.

Sorry Garrinred, but the tournament has already started and you can't enter (sign ups are closed) , though you might get in letter C/D/G/H (as a 3rd seed with 11 players, making one 2nd seed a 3rd seed) as long as everybody agrees, but I'd wait for another tournament since this will change many stuff, don't worry too much anyway, there will be more tournaments =)

Why shouldn't he replace one of the Byes in the LB and battle the loser of L/J?

Post by Crystal_ on Jan 7, 2011 5:07:18 GMT -8
Because if he starts, he starts. Why shouldn't he replace M/N/O? For the same reason.

I agree that replacing a Losers' Bracket Bye isn't much, but it still does disadvantage another player. Sorry bud.
Just to let you know, we start tournaments at the start of each month (though I may do sign-ups a day or two beforehand). There's also no real cap for sign-ups, just that I prefer an even number (which is usually easy to work out).

Since replacing a Bye in the LB with him, leading to him playing vs loser of L/J, is equal to him having lost the 1st game (if he had signed up in time) and getting paired with a Bye (which would be very very likely with 6(5) Byes in the 1st round of the LB) I can see no disadvantage for other players at all. But w/e, your choice, not mine.

Well it would be small, but the player coming from Winners' Bracket would have an extra set to do, which they could lose.

Thought this tournaments are about RBY battling, not about getting Byes? :b

Can't use that chat box anymore, getting a warning of a clickjacking attack. :/ Consumptus, when do you have time to battle? Keep in mind that I live at GMT +1
