373; 244; 238; 232; 328 Tier: OU Bio: Hypno, what can we say about this seemingly average psychic-type?? Plenty, in my opinion. To start, Hypno is statistically Average. Uniquely slow for a psychic while also being more bulky than his brothers. Being so bulky, Hypno is well suited to the position of sleep bait. For this reason, Hypno is usually used in the lead spot, since he is quite adept at waking up late-game and sleep/sweeping fresh/para'd mons. Movesets: Standard Hypnosis Psychic Rest Thunder Wave This is a standard hypno. While apparently lacking Coverage and PP his basic roll is to sleep or eat sleep anyway. Other Options: Mimic: Catch a coverage attack/recover SToss: Need I say more? Meditate + X normal type move: Physical side helps vs. Chansey Counter: The classic "switchintolax-eatslam-sleep-counter" shenanigans. As stated earlier, due to a lack of coverage/reliable recovery, Hypno ironically, is at his best while sleeping. Don't try to get too fancy with him and with some luck he'll perform quite well in the late game.

Yeh, Reflect makes Resting much easier, particularly in the early game if Hypno doesn't take the sleep.

Would body slam on Hypno be useful at all? Kinda combines twave and seismic toss against psychics?

Rest + Thunder Wave + Meditate + Mega Kick is a fun set.

Would body slam on Hypno be useful at all? Kinda combines twave and seismic toss against psychics? It deals less damage versus everyone bar Jynx if you get a high roll (although it is still a 4HKO on Zam, so that's good), but you're kinda gambling. It could be used in combination with Reflect, but I think you'll always be bothered by specialists who can hit you with neutral STAB (Starmie, Lapras, Zapdos...). It *could* work if you're lucky, but I think the reliability of Thunder Wave is preferable.

Headbutt could be interesting, as it only a little bit weaker than body slam (70 power compared to 85) and has a 30% flinch rate. Combined with paralysis this gives the opponent a 55% chance of doing nothing. I guess he could also run meditate with it as well.
