"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." - Isaiah 9:6

My church's Christmas Eve service was wonderful, and I thought I should add a thought from the message.
We focus a lot on gifts and family, but where are the gifts for Jesus?

Anyone know the proper way to pronounce "heav'n"? Blasted carol-writers and their use of a nonsensical monosyllabic contraction...

Well, you can do it either way. I've been a staff singer at several churches (with prestigious music programs) and I'll tell you that different choir directors instructed us different ways. There is no absolute rule. For instance, sometimes you hear "heaven and nature sing" and other times it's "hev nand nature sing." It really depends on what tempo the song is taken at and after that it just comes down to the congregation's preferred practice.
good thoughts, consumptus
