333; 238; 218; 328; 228 Tier: OU Bio: Persian is a unique-normal-type. He is faster than Tauros and also tied with Starmie. Slash grants Persian the unique ability to punch through reflect with STAB. The STAB + Crit rate of Slash gives Persian good damage output but unlike tauros will be walled by gengar. Also, being 60 points weaker in attack, Persian's Body Slam is much less significant than the Bull's. Gengar and Thunder Wave are the two greatest counters to Persian. If you intend on using Persian it is recommended that you have a good answer for Gengar (sacrificing chansey to his explosion is a great option). You can't use Persian as a revenge killer if Gengar is present so do your best to hide Persian till Gengar is dealt with. Movesets: Standard: Slash Hyper Beam Bubble Beam Body Slam/Thunderbolt/Screech Persian doesn't really have any other options and is pretty much a glass cannon. Watch out for counter-Chansey. Without Tbolt, Cloyster will come into Persian with little regard.

Thunder is another option.
Starmie can be an effective team mate: to lure Gengar into going for a risky hypnosis or a 2HKO with Thunderbolt, wearing Gengar down in the process.

Tbolt is mentioned for Cloyster specifically because Persian is probably better off using body slam on a starmie (switch in). Tbolt vs Starmie can only 2HKO with a crit (which persian has little difficulty finding), Since Starmie will be running TW you probably don't want to stay in...

yes, Thunder does 53% average damage to Cloyster (providing it hits but showing it can 2HKOed), and slash-ish damage to Starmie without a Critical Hit. Thunder is more powerful but has less accuracy than Thunderbolt, at the risk of stating the obvious.
