Sandslash is an excellent SD user who can hit Normals, Poisons, Electrics, Rocks, and Ices super effectively, while still hitting Ghosts. Submission, and Fury Swipes are his Fighting moves, and Earthquake is his old standby. He can also utilize Poison Sting to hit his Grass foes, and one of Rock Throw, Rolling Kick, or Rock Slide for his newfound bird weakness. Although he's now weak to Psychic, Sandslash should show up on many teams and will leave his victims rubbing their eyes.
Sandslash works the same as before with Swords Dance, but better with the boosts. While he has a lot of weaknesses, he has the only type combination to take Rock attacks with ease, making him useful against most of them. Use him late with Paralysis support. |

Sandslash gets a Fighting typing and small overall boosts, making him great versus Rock Pokémon. Swords Dance plus 318 and dual physical STAB means that your opponent is in for a world of pain, hitting everything but Flying and Bugs heavily - and for those, you have Rock moves. Sandslash has many weaknesses on the special side of the spectrum, so try to paralyze his opponents before throwing him into the heat.
