Cloyster gains Rock typing in Plus, making him an epic wall, like Magneton. Blizzard and Ice Beam are the main weapons to whittle away at the foe as their physical attacks bounce off Cloyster. Withdraw allows Cloyster to special sweep if he is allowed to set up, and will work well with attacks like Clamp and Spike Cannon. Rest off the damage or Explode! Explosion hits Ghosts and Rocks, while Selfdestruct hits Fighting and Ground types! Solid!
Cloyster is tough to take down, but limited offensively. Use Water and Ice attacks for some mild damage, and Rest or go boom when Cloyster's finally falling. Cloyster is ideal for Toxic and Wrap teams, being difficult to KO and having two types of moves to trap the opponent with. Withdraw is also an option. |

Cloyster gets a Rock typing over his old Water one and a massive 100 points increase in defense, which is to be added to his already monstrous old stat of 458. He now has the second highest combined max stats, second only to Mewtwo. His defense stat is so high that despite having a *4 weakness to Fighting, he takes those attacks better than a Water or Grass attack which he only has a *2 weakness to. Attack with Ice Beam or Blizzard, boost up with Withdraw, explode with Explosion or Rest with Rest. Toxic and Rest could be considered together to beat stallers lategame.
