Tangela becomes an even better wall due to the nice HP boost and new Water typing. Growth and Swords Dance allow Tangela to hit on either the physical or special side, and Absorb and Mega Drain will replenish HP quickly due to boosted power and STAB. Vine Whip also provides Tangela with a strong Grass move to pair with Growth. Leech Seed works if you plan to stick around for a while or force switches. PoisonPowder hits fellow grass pokemon and pairs with Swords Dance. There are numerous options, and many pokemon will be afraid to tangle with Tangela!
Her gimmick is draining HP, but can still use Swords Dance, Growth and status moves. Water/Grass isn't great defensively, but is hard to resist against. With careful play and setup, Tangela can last a long time with seemingly endless HP. |

Tangela becomes Water/Grass, which is an interesting typing. The only types she's weak to come from her Grass typing, as the Water ones are covered up by being part Grass. Being very bulky, having access to Sleep Powder and multiple HP draining moves, Tangela is bound to live a long time. If you want to play a more offensive game, there's still Swords Dance and Growth. Try to come in on Water types as Tangela is the only Pokémon to have an 1/4 resistance to it, along with Gyarados.
