Vaporeon mainly only benefits from her new Normal typing because of the immunity to Ghosts. A boost in defense means she is bulky as ever, and her signature Water Gun will be very useful. STAB Quick Attack is another exciting tool for Vaporeon. Vaporeon will definitely still use Rest to effectively stall out special sweepers, especially when paired with Growth and/or Acid Armour.
Vaporeon slowly stalls and attacks, or can use Quick Attack. Acid Armor and Growth support stalling and helps boost her Special attacks. Once setup, Vaporeon can be tough to take down, so you may want to use Vaporeon later with Paralysis support. |

Vaporeon and the other Eeveelutions get a X/Normal typing. For Vaporeon, this doesn't mean a lot, except an immunity to Ghost and a weakness to Fighting. All Eeveelutions have also gained a signature STAB move that has a 30% chance to lower the foes Special. STAB Body Slam is an option to create paralysis, but most probably, Vaporeon is gonna play the role of a tank with her high HP and Special, access to Acid Armor and Growth. Rest is the move that lets it all come together. There's more offensive ways to play Vaporeon as well - a well-timed Quick Attack could surprise your enemy, and Normal/Water is an unresisted STAB combination. If you decide for the boosting moves, watch out for Karate Chop and Razor Leaf as they'll ignore all your boosts you've saved up.
