Moltres is stronger than ever, now with Drill Peck and powerful two-turn STAB options. Fire's increased necessity in Plus should bring Moltres up to par with the rest of the trio. Moltres can now give the evil eye with Glare, and Screech should scare away some special walls. Fire Blast hits physicals for devastating damage and baleful burns. Moltres is still the most dazzling bird on the horizon.
Since Fire overlaps with Flying more than Electric and Ice, Moltres gains Glare and Screech to support Physical sweeping. Moltres continues to have the strongest Fire attacks and is a serious threat to forest critters regardless if they have high Defense or Special. |

Moltres is the legendary bird that sees the biggest boosts. The most immediate observation is that Moltres now has Glare to cripple anything that dares to switch in. While most Rocks don't mind switching in on any other move Moltres has, there's not one that likes paralysis. Furthermore, Screech is now available to hit the foe extra hard with your physical moves, and speaking of which, Drill Peck is now available as an easy-to-use Flying STAB. Fire Blast is the only move that's how it used to be - it's still the sort-of reliable but powerful Fire move that still has a neat 30% chance to cause a burn. Beware of Starmie and avoid paralysis when using Moltres.
