pokemon.aesoft.org/replay-Isa--vs-YellowRBY--10-augusti-2012-at-15h17This was a fun battle! Yellow had beaten me previously the same day with the same team and I was eager to get revenge. There's nothing too spectacular in here, apart from me showing why it's neat to have a Chansey with an attack stat of 17 rather than 108. It's also the first battle log on here from PO.

GG! Ugh, knew you'd put the one where I lost without showing off my anti-mindgame mindgame from the first round lol My PO isn't able to save logs even when I try for some reason.. should I set it to a certain folder or something? Or do I manually have to put a name for the log or something? Also, just realized why that Chansey thing IS a pretty smart thing to do. Genius man BUT I think there should be a "no changing EVs" clause though cuz that's kinda too good versus Gengar/Lapras' Confuse Ray which should be a pretty viable strat versus Chansey unless I'm mistaken. Is that cart legal and stuff? I honestly have no idea how that stuff works cuz I'm new (Despite my joined date haha)

Lol, it's perfectly legal, and you still get a free turn, just without any really significant damage (I think I always deal 6 HP out of 703). What it does when I reduce my IV's is that I reduce the damage I take during confusion...but it also reduces the damage I deal with Struggle, so if it boils down to a Chansey freeze war where nobody has any PP left, I am bound to lose. The IV's and EV's that I've changed (from 252 to 0 and 15 to 1 [if I got to 0, my HP IV drops automatically) can be done in-game, at least the IV's. I am not completely sure how EV's work in RBY, though...I think that all stats are affected, so you cannot lower just the attack EV, which is what I did. Still, that's a simulator thing, and I don't mind You could report it as a bug to PO staff though. My saved logs end up in Documents --> Pokemon-Online logs. Try that?

The way stats work in RBY is that when you defeat a pokemon, you receive their base stats in points for their respective categories. So for example if you defeat a mew, the pokemon will receive 100 points for each stat. A certain amount of points will boost the stat, but I can't remember how much it is.
This means that to have 0 attack EVs, you would need to candy it without ever letting battle. Even then the attack stat will still get a boost from levelling up.

I am pretty sure that's not how it works? Do you have a source on that?

Yeah Dre's right, you can't have min in one stat and max in all the others because of how Stat Exp. is divvied up. The least you can have in Attack while having max in all other stats comes from using vitamins for all other stats, then training against a certain number of Magikarp and Chansey until your other Stat Experience totals max out, then candy your way to level 100. I can't recall off the top of my head (I ran this at one point), but I think the lowest amount of Attack you can add with Stat Experience is something like 27 while keeping all the other Stat Experience additions maxed out at 63. Which means you can effectively shave off 36 Attack points (or something like that) by means of altering your Stat Experience alone, assuming you're not going to lower any of your other stats to try to get an even lower Attack stat.
