Hell yeah.
Mardy Fish might make a run for it. Though Djoker is so good right now. I thought Federer/Nadal would be still very far ahead of the competition but Djokovic has proven me wrong.
And on the women's side, I'm rooting for Li Na =)

It's nice to know there are Tennis fans wherever you go. Hell yeah. Mardy Fish might make a run for it. Though Djoker is so good right now. I thought Federer/Nadal would be still very far ahead of the competition but Djokovic has proven me wrong. And on the women's side, I'm rooting for Li Na =) Fish is doing pretty well so far. He just beat Malek Jaziri in round 2 in straight sets (6/2, 6/2, 6/4). I'd like to see him win the slam, but if he's anywhere near Djokovic, then I'm sure he'll lose. He lost to Djokovic pretty bad at Rogers Cup. But with Djokovics torn shoulder incident during Cincinnati, it might change his game slightly (even though he's 'all better' now). And Li Na lost in her first round. None of this years previous 3 slam winners are around for the U.S Open (women's champions -- this also hasn't happened in 40 years). It's a shame Kim Clijsters is out with an injury and cant defend her title this year. But it'd be a bad-ass final if it was Wozniacki vs. Sharapova (which I think it will be). No Söderling this time around. Yeah, out because of some virus issue. Lots of players are dropping out right now. This is good news for the top 10, as Soderling is one of those dark horse players who tends to have a chance to knock out the top players. lol Söderling. djokovic will probably win but i want to see federer come back I doubt Federer will come back. His first round match against that one guy was a train wreck. He was up like 4/1 in the first set, and then the other guy came back and tied it up. If Federer was on fire, he would have won that set 6/1 (or at least 6/2). He owns a majority of the records in Tennis history now, so I think his mentality for being a champion is becoming sluggish, therefore his game is becoming sluggish. We all assume Djokovic will win. His game has changed tremendously this year. He's become quite the intimidating player. If someone doesn't get lucky to knock him out, then I too assume he'll win, but I've seen my fair share of upsets. ~ Aether Nexus

I read some other Tennis lover's post about how the WTA is a bit embarrassing lately. Points brought up include how #1 can be #1 without ever winning a Grand Slam (Federer said this) and how it's really just people winning because all the better people are injured or out. Also, Li Na won the French Open because she played clay court tennis.
It's a shame about Li Na, but I hope she'll continue and do better... representing China =)

It's a shame about Li Na, but I hope she'll continue and do better... representing China =) Yeah, I also read that somewhere as well (about her being #1 without a slam). Some people just are meant for winning tournaments more than Grand Slams. I mean, look at Elena Dementieva who only just retired almost a year ago (will be a year this upcoming October) and she never won a slam and made it all the way up to 3rd in the world. But she did win the Gold medal in the women's singles during the 2008 Summer Olympics, and I think that's better than 4 slams put together (4 slams once a year; 1 Summer Olympic every 4 years). Wozniacki is only 21; she's still got plenty of time to win a slam. She almost did in 2009 at the U.S. Open, so she still has a fighting chance. Not that many serious players leave due to injuries to make her lucky enough to get wins by default playing against 'crummy' players. She's lost to players whom I've had no clue who they are. She'll come around and get a slam eventually. So you're Chinese? And Li Na grew up playing on clay courts? In China? Really? I figured they played on hard courts. Did anyone watch the Stosur match? Was a pretty good match. Lasted a little over 3 hours. And the last match of the night was Roddick vs. the up-and-coming American 18-year-old, Jack Sock (haha, I loved how one of the commentators said 'Sack' instead of 'Sock' at one point). Sock got pwned by Roddick in straight sets, and Roddick even served a 140 mph serve in the beginning of the first set. Was a pretty fun match to watch as well. I cant wait for Sunday, though. My favorite player (David Nalbandian) plays against world #2 Nadal in the 3rd round. It's unfortunate that Nadal had to be in his bracket. Nalbandian beat Ivan Ljubicic, who is also a good player and one I enjoy watching too. I figure if he can beat him, then he can try his very best to defeat the defending U.S. Open champion. Will be watching that shit Live on Sunday for sure. Also a good match to come up I think tomorrow will be Djokovic vs. Davydenko. Both agile, corner hitting players, so that will be a fun match to watch as well. Lots of upsets today as well. Let's see what happens tomorrow. ~ Aether Nexus

Li Na played on hard courts I believe, but she won the French open by playing Clay Tennis. All that sliding which noone else really did.

Nole wins: +-80%. But I want to see federer vs djokovic though. So Tsonga please, dont beat Federer this time. Or rather, Fish please, beat Tsonga. I can't honestly imagine tennis without Federer; and Dimitrov (the mini federer?) is doing things pretty bad this year. BTW, I love watching Florian Mayer playing tennis!
As for women, I'd like to see either Stosur or Lisicki winning. Thw wta matches are pretty boring though. They need a Federera.

Stosur looking very strong right now.
A shame about Federer too. He just seemed to lose his energy and intensity. Perhaps his age is catching up and he's not as fit as he was.
Edit: There is a "Federera". Her name is Serena Williams. lol. Personally, I see her so far ahead of everyone else it's not a contest at all.
