So I suppose it'll soon be time to say goodbye to NBS.

I think it'll be a little while before we part ways with NBS. That is, if the original plan of implementing stadium mechanics first, then in a future update, implementing cart mechanics, is used. Of course, with how Coyo is mentioning a "complete overhaul" for the next update, I'm not 100% sure if they're planning on implementing cart mechanics sooner or not. But the past says nay.

This is the thing that will guarantee RBY's future presence. Awesome.

I emailed Coyotte about it earlier this week, stressing the importance of in-game mechanics. He said they'll do it ASAP... Until then, NBS will indeed still be used.

How about RBYPlus? Will you work with that prior to the cart-update?

It's a pretty big change really. Netbattle has tons of history to it and most of us here have only experience a small part of it. It's neat to be going with it until the end.
RBY came out back in 1998, so some kids in high school weren't even born then. A fancy new emulator could get a draw in a lot of new players for RBY, and it should help our community grow. Hopefully not too many bratty kids though. ;D
