I am posting this here as a way of saying thank you to the RBYPlus team. I am making a my own Pokemon Card game featuring the original 151 Pokemon and I have drawn a lot of ideas from Plus. I'll probably post things about card game here in the future.

I actually thought about doing this a few times. Making the cards and balancing them so that the metagame was more diverse would be super cool, instead of Hitmonchan/Electabuzz/Scyther/Blastoise/Wigglytuff all over the place.
Definitely let us know about progress! :D

A couple years back I was modeling my card game off the actual card game, but now it's based directly off of the video games (with a few personal touches of mine).

Okay so here is the system I created to balance for typing (for my card game). I want to know if you guys think it needs any revision.
First take a look at how effective a Pokemon is when attacking each type: for every x0 minus 2 points x .5= -1 point x .67 (unSTAB)= - 1/2 point x1.5 (unSTAB)= +1/2 point x2= +1 point
Then take a look at how the Pokemon takes hits from other types: for every x4 minus 2 points x2= -1 x .5= +1 x .25= +1.5 x0= +2
After that add up all the points. For an example lets take a look at Cubone's Mother (Ghost/ Ground): She's super effective against 5 types (Rocks, Ghost, Fire, Poison, Electic) (+ 5 points) walled by none (-0) For the sake of simplicity she won't have any notible unSTAB in her move pool (+0) She walls 3 types ( Rocks, Bugs, Poison) (+3 points) Completely unaffected by 3 types (Normal, Fighting, Electric) (+6 points) And is weak (x2) against 4 types (Ghost, Ice, Water, Grass) (- 4 Points)
All that totals to +10 points.
Then take whatever number of points and divid by 30 (15 types counted twice to account for offence and defence)
Cubone's Mother +10 points------> 10/30= .3333333.... So Cubone's Mother is 33.33% more advantagous than 'average'. Thus is balance see will be 1/3 less as potent with stats.
That is my system. Tell me what you think of it.

Seems neat, as long as you find a way to balance things with a lot of resistances and little weaknesses (Blastoise comes to mind).
Also: "walled by none (-0)"
Normal/Flying?

My Offense calculations are not taking duel types into account, only single types. The idea is that it will balance out if I have enough variation of duel types (which I plan to make as some Pokemon will have multiple forms). Besides there are so many specific typings it would be ridiculous to try and take them all into account.

Okay, so I was hoping I could have some input from you guys about my Pokemon Card game. Right now I am thinking about how much power a mixed attacker (both special and physical) should have. The average amount of turns it takes for a physical-only Pokemon to KO another is 3.5 (coming from an average attack power of 12). So I was think a mixed attacker should KO Pokemon in either 4 turns (attack power of 10 for each attack stat) or 4.5 turns (attack power of 9). But I can't decide which. Also I was wondering in what ways a Pokemon is nerfed to balance for mixed attacking in RBYPlus.

Mixed attackers in general tend to have slightly lower attacking stats than a purely physical/special attacker. Speed/bulk is not really set. STAB is also a factor - some Pokémon only have one STAB but attacks on both side of the spectrum (Arcanine) but the majority are dual-type mons. The ones with one physical and one special STAB tend to have even lower attacking stats than the ones that have their STABs on the same type of the spectrum, I'd say. Being a mixed attacker, in summary, means you sacrifice the ability to hit some things hard to hit a lot of things moderately hard.

I know Isa, all of that was what my comment was about.
I basically just need input on what degree should the attacking output be lower.
