Perhaps RBYPlus could have a future if we didn't put it in the hands of Pokemon Online. As I recall there is a gen 5 battle simulator on the internet (not a download). So do we have the resources to to make something like that for RBYPlus?

I know you brought this up elsewhere - but not really. Pokémon Online is the best option for a long time ahead, the way I see it. The main issue is that we don't have a reliable server host anymore (as well as lack of interest/activity when Plus was actually up).

pokemonshowdown.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=820Okay, so the above mod is something available on the main page of the Pokemon Showdown battle simulator. Needless to say, the moment I found out about this I instantly thought of what this could mean for the future of RBYPlus. The great thing about Pokemon Showdown and its mods is that no download is needed, if we ever get Plus up there I think its chances of becoming more noticed will be much better because of this. If nothing else it looks like it might be a more stable home than Pokemon Perfect.

I'm gonna start asking some people!
Edit: Apparently you're not supposed to PM administrators with questions.... We'll need to make a topic thread.
Isa would you want to do this or shall I? You are in charge of Plus after all.

RBYPlus at PS would be great IMO. Keep it ahead!

Is anyone actually planning on doing this or what? Is there sufficient interest? I could implement it on my server but I'm not sure what kind of interest there is for RBYPlus at this point. let me know

I'd certainly take interest in it for the sake of nostalgia if nothing else. I spent a lot of time on this project back in the day.

A friend of mine was very interested in trying it out, and I would be playing it with him as well.

good enough for me, i'll get to work on it. is there somewhere the new pokemon stats are listed as base stats, instead of raw stats?

violetversion.psim.us/RBYPlus is now fully playable on that server. There may be a few inaccuracies (a few moves may be improperly implemented, among other things) but it's basically complete. Please bother me if you find any issues or inaccuracies!

I made a (probably awful?) team and will also be down for playing matches when I'm online.

Questions regarding RBYPlus' implementation:
- Should Body Slam paralyze normals like it 'did' when RBYPlus was first designed? Or should the mechanics work as they do under the new RBY rules? (Current implementation: Old mechanics)
- Should 1/256 be in the game? (Current implementation: it is not)
- Should fire resist ice? This wasn't mentioned explicitly in the OP, but I believe Arcanine's description implies otherwise. I just want to be sure about this before changing it. (Current implementation: fire does resist ice)
Back when I implemented the moves (which was a while ago), I listed the moves that I hadn't quite properly implemented yet. Some of them may be completely nonfunctional, some of them may just have slightly incorrect accuracy or something. In any case they all have some sort of problems, so I'll list them here so everybody is aware:
Dream Eater Barrage is still a multihitting move. Think about that for a second Partial trapping (accuracy may be off) Solar Beam Sky Attack Currently some moves such as Headbutt are physical when they should be special, and vice versa. Hijumpkick doesnt fly Mimic Petaldance duration Smokescreen Stringshot Rage Razor Wind Psybeam Kinesis
All of these will be rectified in the next server update.

Fire was not intended to be resisting Ice. What the Arcanine description says is that a Fire type is more important with the rise of Ice types, which is true since Fire hits Ice for super effective damage.
The game was obviously designed with Body Slam paralyzing Normals in mind, as we didn't know about that mechanic during development, and since this is obviously a modification that allows us to do what we feel like, I'd prefer that we stick to the old mechanics rather than the post-Crystal discovery ones.
255's need not show up.
