Hello Really want to get into RBY

Hello everyone, I hope I am doing this right (If not let me know) I decided to call myself amphibian just now actually because to be honest I have never really stuck with one name throughout my competitive battling. I found pokemon showdown about 2 years ago when xy just started, and I mostly played lc. I did pretty well and was addicted for a long time. Eventually though I got bored and quit. Occasionally I went back for a while but for the most part was done. However about a month ago I decided to get back into pokemon, and remember about rby2k10.

I first saw rby2k10 back when I first played competitive pokemon and I wanted to know more about competitive rby and how its battles played out. And I came across this site, since rby was knew to me It was very cool seeing all the information and I watched rby battles on youtube from this site aswell. I liked how rby battles played and I had wanted to get started, but I couldn't understand how to use netbattle, and didn't like making fourm accounts.

I am glad to see that rby2k10 is still alive and now finally would really like to be apart of the community, I like how rby battles dont have the team matchup issues in ORAS and the battles didn't have huge damage or risk and involved more strategic plays. I really want to get into battling but netbattle is to archaic for me and I still don't understand how exactly to use It and would appreciate help on that. I also really don't know how to even get battles in rby. I also don't want rby to die, and that's about it.

TL;DR(I wouldn't lol) I want to get into rby battling but i don't understand netbattle or how to get battles with other rby players.

Thanks for the reply. I have made a team that should work for an rby battle. Right now I just am not sure about how to actually get a battle with someone, do I ask someone? Nobody seems to do that or do I wait for some kind of event? I just don't know.

Noone has battled seriously on NBS for years. NBS has bugs such as with Mimic, or not having stuff like this. Use either Pokemon Online (requires download but has more rby2k10 members active on it) or Pokemon Showdown (mostly only little old me and the odd decent RBYer who doesn't frequent these forums) or both (well I use both actually..).

Ok, I didn't realize how old the netbattle posts are. I am still not entirely sure on how most people here go about finding battles with eachother, but thanks for letting me know not to use netbattle

Hey. It's nice to see new players wanting to get into this good ol' game. Definitely consider downloading Pokémon Online if you want to find battles. There are many different channels to chat on, one of which is called "RBY"! Feel free to ask there or on the main channel for a battle as this tier is not played by many people.

Yeah, a bunch of new players will be coming onto Pokemon Online soon, so you can have some other players around your skill level to fight!

Welcome, PO and PS both work fine while Netbattle is not updated with new mechanics.
You'll find the majority of dedicated RBYers on PO, but it's worth trying on both.
