Okay ya'll,
I've discovered something rather exciting that may change the RBY metagame a bit.
Let's just say it's a strategy that isn't duplicated anywhere else.
I'll reveal it after the tournament. Hang on to your hats.

After doing some thinking and calculating, I don't think this will turn out as big as it's being promoted.
Still might generate some interesting things though.
And just to give a hint: it's an exploit of a quirky move.

Well I'm going to have a guess:
You plan to use this set:
Slowbro - Dig - Amnesia - Surf - Thunder Wave/ Psychic / Ice Beam
You plan to get Slowbro paralysed so that it has a 25% chance to get fully paralyzed. If it gets fully paralyzed when you use Dig, it will stay underground for the rest of the match (assuming you don't use dig again). You'd then amnesia up to 999 and proceed to sweep. Surf is the obvious choice in order to have the greatest chance at beating Chansey (i.e. using the most powerful attack). And Psychic is also a nice stab attack and has a great benefit of causing special downs - which will cause the opponent to switch etc. Meanwhile Thunder Wave would make it quite a bit easier to defeat those foes who will just recover up on you and try to abuse your own Slowbro's paralysis - though it does have the disadvantage of giving you less pp to attack with. Another option would be to use Ice Beam in order to try to get the freeze on those annoying foes.
My deduction process in leading me to guess this:
The "Big Suprise" and "... discovered something rather exciting that may change the RBY metagame a bit." immediately rung alarm bells of abusing the dig/fly glitch. It is exciting in its weirdness and possibility to sweep through an entire team. t3h Icy's post confirmed this idea. Waterwizard also said he was using Slowbro in the "tourney" match against Crystal. So when I remembered that, I quickly came up with the set idea.
I hope this is right. If it's not, I came up with a decent idea anyway. lol Though I haven't yet confirmed whether this works on NB.

the Dig/Fly glitch isn't present on NBS. Good idea though, Jack!
I'm glad it got you to join the board, lol!
Icy, no more giving hints. xD

Oh, we can guess? I thought it had something to do with Substitute because of t3h Icy's post "Lol "duplicated"."
I have no clue how to exploit Substitute though.
