I was waiting for WaterWizard to put up some topics in here (since he asked for the sub-board in the first place ), but I figure I'll start with something light. www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes2.aspPersonally, I think it's pretty accurate in analyzing and grouping different personality types with the four main traits. A lot of interesting information and a lot of subconscious thoughts are put into words describing each. If you're interested on reading about them: www.personalitypage.com/html/portraits.htmlI think it describes me very accurately and it's interesting to read on. There's quite a lot of people that do analysis and all sorts of stuff with this. There's literally forums dedicated to all 16 types, with hundreds of thousands of posts and topics. WaterWizard, Harrison and I are all INTJs, and I imagine most people here are close to INTJ/Ps. Maybe a few extroverts. So what personality type are you, what do you think of this test, etc?

Actually, Jung's personality stuff is outdated. It's still interesting to see and it'll give an accurate result to some people, but the standard now is to measure the "Big 5" personality traits: openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism/emotional stability. Measuring these five instead of just four traits tends to give more accurate results. Here's a typical Big 5 test: similarminds.com/bigfive.htmlHere's an indirect test (in beta, but interesting how questions are less obvious): similarminds.com/indirect.htmlHere's info: similarminds.com/sloan.html#10en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Five_personality_traitsI forget what I am exactly (no time to take it again now, I'll do it soon), but I remember that neither Jung's test nor the Big 5 test could give me an exact result, as certain aspects of my personality are non-distinct, or clash, or something. I know for Jung's test, I'm almost exactly halfway between perceiving and judging, the last letter. Also, if anyone's interested, I'm studying to be a research psychologist.

yep, i'm an INTJ, although I'm only just slightly more of an introvert than an extrovert. my Big 5 results backed this up. the "shadow functions" as well as various worldviews also help shape your personality, and certain aspects are subject to change over time. it's fun to look at all this stuff. the Myers-Briggs test is quite accurate in a lot of ways, although of course with all of these personality tests, some things are just generalizations. frankly, I like being an INTJ

For Myers' test, I'm INTJ, but not by a large margin. I'm only moderately more thinking and judging than feeling and perceiving. So really, I think I'm high on all four traits.
My big 5 test results are similar: low extroversion, moderately high orderliness, high emotional stability, medium accommodation, high inquisitiveness.
I like taking personality tests (I like reflecting).

I got INTJ on Myers' test.
My big 5 test results were as follows: moderately low extrovertism, low orderliness, very high emotional stability, moderately high accommodation, and very high inquisitiveness
It seems though that this is a board with little activity...
