I made this topic so we could find somewhere to post some ideas about new stuff. It's mainly (as the title says) about movesets we never/hardly see, about which other people coud give their opinion. It can also be about some pokemon combination ("does this pokemon and that pokemon work together ?") when you want to try something new for your team(s). Dunno if this topic will be popular but it could also prevent us from creating like one topic per pokemon. I have some idea(s) but I'd like to know first if you people think that this topic could be useful.

Yeah, this is useful. It will be difficult to organize...will the best ideas be written in the first post? If this thread gets too big, ideas will easily be lost.
Good idea though.
Edit: WaterWizard will have a lot to post here.

Well, I'm not quite sure what counts as "new" per se. Maybe unorthodox then? For example: Tauros: Body Slam Hyper Beam Earthquake Thunderbolt
Also, I've used this Exeggutor sometimes, and it's seems kinda unorthodox, but probably not new: Exeggutor Sleep Powder Rest Double-Edge Psychic
I used Rest Eggy as a lead and I made a 4-1 comeback win once because my opponent had nothing that could kill Eggy fast and he was expecting Explosion, not Rest. I also slept his Chansey and killed it with d-e.

The Tauros set is something I wanted to try. I'm still hesitating between Earthquake and Blizzard though. Blizzard hits Golem/Rhydon and eggy harder but then with Earthquake we can kill Gengar.

Blizzard is more disposable than Earthquake. EQ is essential for Gengar and for evading Counter. But I'm curious, on whom are you going to use Thunderbolt? Body Slam hits Starmie harder, and Lapras for the same damage (with more chance of paralysis). Articuno laughs at Tauros' special, and Gyarados is BL... Slowbro is the only pokemon you'd use Thunderbolt on, and after one Amnesia you're better off with Body Slam again... I just don't see the use.

Cloyster and Kingler.
Tauros's Thunderbolt is stronger than Body Slam against Articuno (barely).

Here's one set that I've come up with :
Hypno - Psychic - Rest - Reflect - Thunderwave
I've only got good results with it and I'll certainly use it more.

It's a common set for non-sleepers, though Seismic Toss is usually more common (over Reflect) so you don't get stalled on Psychics. However, your set covers Physicals much better.
I take it you use it late game after Exeggutor and Chansey are out?

Yea, Tbolt is only good for Slowbro and Cloyster, both of which does a great job walling Tauros most of the time. Thunderbolt does a little bit more damage to Starmie and Lapras like WW mentioned, but most likely not worth it to lose Blizzard, which does significantly more damage to Golem than EQ. Thunder can arguably be better if you're using an electric move for waters. With Thunder you can 2HKO Starmie (or surprise crit OHKO) and 3HKO Lapras. Also does notably more damage to Cloyster and Slowbro, but doesn't change any 3HKOs to a 2HKO (or a 2HKO to an OHKO). I personally would replace EQ for Blizzard, because I think Gengar isn't so harmful as say Exeggutor and Golem.
Giga Punch used some pretty creative movesets: Jynx - Ice Beam - Lovely Kiss - Psychic - Rest
His mission was not only to put something to sleep, but increase his chance to freeze something with Jynx's Ice Beam by improving its durability with Rest. Rest allows it to stay in play against Chansey, Alakazam, and Starmie without STAB. Disabling two monsters is a great advantage, and Jynx surprisingly stayed around for a long time. He had proper support to deal with incoming Tauros / Snorlax. He had Cloyster among other things.
Cloyster - Blizzard - Clamp - Explosion - Rest
Another interesting set. Rest provided Giga Punch more control as to when it was time for Cloyster to explode. Also removes paralysis to potentially do Clamp damage. I bet Exeggutor can also pull off something similar to what this Cloyster does, maybe even better (something similar to Underboss's set maybe; Psychic, Rest, Explosion, Double-Edge / Sleep Powder / Mega Drain / Stun Spore).
Gengar - Confuse Ray - Explosion - Hypnosis - Seismic Toss
I have leaded with this Gengar on my older team before using Zam. Most Gengar has a combination of Tbolt for solid STAB on waters, Mega Drain for Golem / Rhydon, or Psychic for other Gengars and Victreebels. However, the biggest counter for Gengar is Alakzam and Exeggutor, and C-Ray and S-Toss is the best way of chipping away at both of its health. C-Ray provides more breathing room for my switch-in, too.
Venusaur - Body Slam - Hyper Beam - Razor Leaf - Swords Dance
All-out attacking Venusaur. Pawned in the earlier time, especially when Razor Leaf's Base Power was still rigged to 70 instead of 55! Need both Body Slam and Hyper Beam for paralysis support and mid/late-game sweeping (Venusaur doesn't have a chance w/o Hyper Beam), respectively. I already had Gengar so sleep support wasn't needed as well. Arguably Victreebel may pull this off better with only 1 Swords Dance instead of 2, but I liked how Venusaur can also be used as a defensive utility until the time to sweep comes.
Slowbro - Amnesia - Reflect - Rest - Surf
With Reflect up, Explosion and Hyper Beams can no longer threaten Slowbro's set up. If your team has good paralysis support (~2 monsters with Stun Spore / T-Wave) already, I would definitely go Reflect > T-Wave

I've used Jynx a lot, always with that set. The main problem as you pointed out is that it gives one (or two (even three)) free turn to the opponent to switch in Tauros or Snorlax. I had quite a few problems with that, but if I was to build a team with it again, I would probably also use Starmie. As for Cloyster (well, not Cloyster), I've already tried boom+Rest in a same set. I had a team with Gengar (it saved me once from getting swept by a Persian late game), Eggy, Snorlax and Golem (like Gengar, but saved me from a Zapdos sweep), and it worked quite well. And Slowbro. I've tried that a while ago and always got haxed >.> . That Gengar set is interesting ^^ .
I'm not only posting to comment on something quite old, but I would also ask you something. I was thinking about Kangaskhan, and Dizzy Punch. Like TBolt on Tauros, you have to sacrifice a slot for it (Surf / Counter imo). Of course, it has to be used on a paralyzed target. It is a kind of gimmick move, but it has 100 % accuracy, so on a paralyzed target, it can be a better choice than BodySlam in some occasions. What do you think ?

Dizzy Punch has no secondary effect in RBY and is weaker than Body Slam.

In GCS, Dizzy Punch has a 20% to confuse. Dynamic Punch has a 100% chance, but only if it hits (50% of the time).

Dynamic Punch also has less PP. I've never liked it (never found it worth using it before gen4). It's just that seeing someone using Dizzy Punch in gsc gave me the idea of using it in rby. I don't like gimmick moves in general (i'm always choosing either BS or DE in gsc), but I found the idea interesting for rby (as even 10% can be a lot), too bad it doesn't work.

IIRC, my old Beedrill & Nidoking movesets were both classed as rather unorthodox at the time (Beedrill had never been seen in battle online, and every Nidoking then had Rock Slide). Since then, the Nidoking moveset swiftly spread. Here it is;
Body Slam (originally Rock Slide on the old standards) Thunderbolt Ice Beam / Blizzard Earthquake
Basic strategy - attack, attack, attack. Nidoking's one of the few Pokemon with stats to support physical and special attacks almost equally, so just use whichever attack'll be most useful against the opponent. Rock Slide has a flinch side effect, while Body Slam's got Paralysis. Guess which can be more useful in a battle...
The Beedrill setup's pretty basic, but makes decent use if you're able to predict a rest user that's unlikely to switch.
Twineedle Hyper Beam Sword's Dance (optionally Focus Energy if used in Stadium) Agility
Basic strategy - Switch in when your opponent's about to use rest, use agility. If they don't switch, Sword's Dance, then attack away.

Those are still pretty standard, lol. For Beedrill though, Mega Drain is a possibility so that Golem and Rhydon can't wall you out, but you need to hit them hard beforehand to safely finish them off.
Mega Drain vs Golem - 129-110 (36%-30%) 1x Swords Dance + Twineedle vs Golem - 93-79 (26%-22%)

They're standard now, but they weren't when I first used them. I think the standard beedrill back then had cut instead. (IIRC, quite a few people used the standards still listed on Azure Heights. Mind you, that was back when electric starters were common.)
