Zapdos is found in the Power Plant, found South of the Rock Cave's Northern Entrance
Zapdos is perhaps the easiest to capture (he was for me), since once you get one, the rest are somewhat easy. There are two Pokemon you want for this battle. A Pokemon with HYPNOSIS, and a Pokemon with ICE BEAM.
WW Edit: FIRST, save the game when you're standing next to Zapdos. If you don't catch him the first time, you can turn the gameboy off and on and try again and again!
First Next, use hypnosis and make Zapdos fall asleep. Then, switch to the pokemon with Ice Beam, and keep trying to freeze Zapdos. It's hard. Trust me. I must have fought the guy 10 or so times, just for it to work (if it doesn't freeze him right away, don't mind, it may take a few turns, just survive). Once Zapdos is frozen, move in for the kill. Get a WEAK Pokemon with TACKLE to bring Zapdos' life down to more or less nil. The bar should be more or less empty (or maybe a small Grey line left). Now, hopefully you brought a lot of Ultra Balls. Use them. If you're lucky, Zapdos is yours.

Remember, if he wakes up while you are trying to freeze him, go back to the pokemon with Hypnosis and put him to sleep again.

One trick is to use a Rhydon with Blizzard!
Zilch, you have to be at a higher level from the foe to Freeze it. most trainers never get their pokes higher than a wild Articuno (which is probably why she tears through almost every team).

i read the pokeball catch rate equation, if i remember right, 1/3 of the hp bar is enough, less than that doesn't benefit the catch rate, and sleep is just as good as freeze to help the catch rate, i think both multiplied the chance x2

I could have sworn that my Dewgong was a higher level. Could it be that Aurora Beam doesn't work properly against Articuno?

Umm, Aurora beam doesn't freeze? And how do you freeze a sleeping pokemon? I just soft-reset until I get a catch. Never fails

Why are you using aurora beam for freezing? You should be using Super Glitch.

I don't believe you. The old man never used any fancy button combinations when he caught his Weedle.
