Modding Defense for Counter

Here's a fun trick I'll share: modding your Pokemon's Defense DV so Counter does more damage. Before I go over some uses, it's important to note that the HP DV is based on Defense. When a Pokemon's Defense DV is odd, HP's increases by 4, and if it's even, HP DV doesn't increase in that manner. The difference of 4 for the HP DV is 8 HP, which isn't much, but you may want to avoid losing that for no reason. Unfortunately, Netbattle doesn't allow you to modify Stat Experience, although Pokemon Online does, so this tactic can be abused more on there.
Anyway, Chansey can't use this as effectively as Snorlax's Body Slam does over 50% his own HP to Chansey, and most other common scenarios don't benefit from this. However, there are a few.
Due to Chansey's low Defense, dropping 14 Defense DVs (28 Defense) is the largest different percentage-wise.
Exeggutor's Double-Edge normally: 226-192. Doubling this gives Chansey a 34/39 chance to OHKO with Counter.
But when you drop Chansey's Defense DV to 13 (104 Defense), Double-Edge does 234-199, letting Counter OHKO guaranteed, and only the loss of 4 Defense and 0 HP.
One other extreme case with Chansey is for Lapras's Body Slam. Normally, it only does 179-152 damage. Modding Chansey's Defense DV to 1 (80 Defense), brings the damage to 241-205, giving a 11/39 chance to OHKO with Counter. This I don't recommend, but it's a possibility.
So Chansey can't really use this properly, but what about other Pokemon?
Snorlax's Hyper Beam against another Snorlax does 266-226, giving a 5/39 chance to OHKO. Adjusting Snorlax's Defense DV to 1 (200 Defense), brings this up to a 36/39 chance. This means you can unexpectedly jump into Hyper Beam with Snorlax. You could also drop Defense DV to 0, which gives a guaranteed OHKO with Counter, but it costs 8 HP that way, which can be somewhat expensive for other Physical attacks with the already lower Defense.
Snorlax can also Counter Persian's Slash which normally gives a 32/39 chance to OHKO, and dropping Snorlax's Defense DV to 11 (220 Defense) guarantees it.
Tauros's Body Slam vs Alakazam does 172-147, which is a little short of the OHKO with Counter. Dropping Alakazam's Defense DV to 1 (160 Defense), brings the OHKO chance to 33/39, and if you want, DV 0 will go up to 35/39. I would advise caution with this though as Tauros CHs often, and Alakazam will need nearly full health to survive it. You could just use DV 15 and follow with Psychic, but this helps Paralyzed Alakazams and doesn't allow Tauros to be switched out after the heavy hit.
Snorlax's Body Slam vs Alakazam: 184-156 (368-312 Countered)
Alakazam's Psychic vs Snorlax: 186-158
This would normally give a 477/1521 (31%) chance for a 2HKO, but if you mod Alakazam's Defense DV to 3 (164 Defense), this becomes a 1495/1521 (98%) chance. If you insist on the guarantee, Defense DV 1 will give you that.
Tauros's Body Slam vs Jynx: 192-164. This gives a 22/39 chance to OHKO with Counter. Setting Jynx's Defense DV to 9 guarantees this. However, this increases Jynx's chance to be OHKO'd by Hyper Beam from Tauros and Snorlax:
Tauros's Hyper Beam: 4/39
Tauros's Hyper Beam vs Defense DV 9: 22/39
Snorlax's Hyper Beam: 20/39
Snorlax's Hyper Beam vs Defense DV 9: 37/39
Okay, want a juicy one?
Electabuzz's Body Slam vs Electabuzz: 90-77
Electabuzz's Body Slam vs Electabuzz (Defense DV 1): 104-88
Electabuzz's Hyper Beam vs Electabuzz: 158-135
If you Counter Body Slam with Defense DV at 1 and then follow up with Hyper Beam, you have a 1079/1521 (71%) chance of 2HKOing. Fortunately, the bulk of the damage comes from Counter, so if you are concerned it didn't do enough, you don't have to risk Hyper Beam. You also have a guaranteed OHKO if the Countered Body Slam was a CH, which is normally 22/39. This is situational and you lose Psychic (unless you drop Thunder Wave), so plan ahead if you use this.
There are tons more possible examples, but I think you guys get the picture. Be careful using this in general since your Pokemon will take more damage to all Physical attacks, and if the opponent notices you're taking more than normal damage, they might figure out what you're doing. Know your damage ranges if you choose to try these out.
