Type: Water/Rock
HP: 323
Atk: 328
Def: 308
Spd: 258 (15.6% CH)
Spc: 238
Overview
Kabutops is another Swords Dancer that resembles Kingler in both stats and attacks. Kabutops' differs in his Rock typing, which gives him resistance to Normal attacks, but also introduces a weakness to Ground (and 4X Grass weakness), in additional to their established Electric weakness. However, if you can set Kabutops up against a paralysed squad, he can sweep pretty effectively.
Standard Moveset
Swords Dance
Body Slam
Hyper Beam
Surf
The moveset should be fairly simple to use. Swords Dance once (or twice if you can!) to boost Kabutops' already excellent attack, then use Hyper Beam to KO or Body Slam to get them into KO range. STAB Surf easily dispenses with Ground types.
Alternatives
Whilst the above Moveset is definitely the best, Kabutops has a few other decent moves. Slash is nice for CHs, but obviously ignores the Swords Dance boost. Hydro Pump probably isn't worth it as the accuracy of Surf is more important, but it's there. Kabutops won't like the recoil of Double Edge, but it is another good Normal attack to consider. Blizzard could be used for Eggy or Zapdos, but Kabutops' lacks STAB and a good special to back it up. Seismic Toss will damage another for 100, but isn't really needed. Really, you should just stick to the standard.
Counters
Gengar is a perfect counter, taking basically no damage from any attack and hitting back with Thunderbolt. Zapdos has good physical defence and STAB Thunderbolt, making it a good choice too. Jolteon and Starmie do well 1v1, but they're quite weak physically and don't want to switch into a paraslam. Lapras and Eggy (with Mega Drain) are other options, but remember that they're both slower than Kabutops.
Conclusion
He's not as used as the similar Kingler, but he has some advantages that can be exploited. The ability to come into Explosions is always nice, and the free turn to set up after switching into a Hyper Beam is nice too. The weakness to Thunderbolt and Earthquake is costly though, as it means almost every standard pokemon has a super effective attack. He works best in the late-game against a paralysed squad, otherwise his weaknesses will mean he won't last long enough to make an impression. Kabtuops is a fun, niche pokemon that can surprise, but ultimately he's not consistent enough to see regular, or even occasional, play.
